





In the footsteps of Marco Polo and the conquerors of Central Asia: the Persians, Alexander the Great, the Arabs, Genghis Khan… discover the cities that were long considered the three most beautiful in the world: Samarkand, Bukhara, Khiva… Amidst the sands, the mirage of bright blue domes, slender minarets and ceramic cladding have attracted and fascinated travelers and conquerors.
Transfer by long-distance coach to Paris. Flight with Uzbekistan Airways at around 19:30.
Guided tour of the “Ata darvaza” fortress, which was built between the 10th and 18th centuries. Century. Visit to “Ata darvaza – West Gate”, minaret and madrasah, silk workshop, mausoleum of Pahlavan Mahmud and Islamkhodja minaret. Guided tours of the Juma Mosque, the Caravan Saray, the palace of Toch Khavli and the harem of Khan.
Breakfast. Free time for personal discoveries. Transfer to the train station to catch the normal train to Bukhara at 11:10 am. The railroad line runs through the Kyzyl-Kum desert and you travel between the sand dunes. In the past, the westbound caravans traveled through this part of the Silk Road, which connected the western cities with Bukhara. Lunch on the train. Arrival in Bukhara at 18:16, reception by your driver, transfer and check-in at the hotel. Dinner at the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast. You start your tour at the Ismail Samani Mausoleum, the city’s vegetable and dried fruit market. Afterwards you will see the mausoleum of Chachma Ayoub, one of the most revered monuments in the city, Reghistan Square to visit the Ark Citadel, the oldest building in Bukhara, and the Bolo Khaouz Mosque, which was built in the 18th century. Lunch. Followed by a guided tour of the Ulug Beg Mosque (1417), built by the Astronomer Prince of Samarkand, and the Abdul Aziz Khan Mosque (1654), opposite the previous one, the Magoki Attari Mosque in the heart of the city, where you can admire the Poyi Kalyan complex, the Mir Arab Mosque (1535) and the Great Mosque, built in 1514. Dinner with a performance of traditional dances, songs and a fashion show in the Nadir Devanbegui madrasah. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast. Guided tour of the exterior of the city of Bukhara. You will go to the Bakhuddin Naqshbandi complex, which was the great souffi of Central Asia, to the summer palace of the Emir of Bukhara – Sitorai Mohi -Khossa, to the small medrese Chor Minor (1807) with its four minarets surmounted by turquoise blue domes. Lunch. Visit to the Labi Khahouz complex, which comprises three huge madrasas: Khanakha and Nadir Devonbegui madrasah, Koukeldach madrasah. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast. Drive to Nurata. On the roadside, visit the pottery workshop in Gijdouvan, the water reservoir (Sardoba) and the ruins of the 12th century Saray caravan Rabbati Malik, the paintings engraved on the rock right next to the road. Arrival in Nourata. Lunch with a local. Guided tour of the town of Nourata, where you will find the ruins of an ancient fortress built at the time of the Greek conquest (Alexander the Great). You will visit the Nourata complex, which includes two mosques and a sacred and healing spring whose water is very rich in various natural minerals. Continue to the artificial lake Aydarkul, where you can walk or swim on the shore of the lake. Continue towards the village of Yanguigazgan, the village of Kazakh shepherds. Drive to Yanguigazgan. Arrival and move into the yurt. Possibility for a walk in the desert and a ride on camels. Dinner with vodka and the songs of a Kazakh shepherd and overnight stay in the yurt.
Breakfast. Departure for Samarkand via Mayintepa through a more cultivated, richer landscape. On the way you will stop at a typical steppe village in Central Asia. Welcome by a family and lunch with the locals, where you will taste the traditional cuisine. Meet the villagers and take a walk across the steppe of the village. Stop at the roadside for a coffee in nature and visit the Imam al-Bukhariy complex, a sacred site in the Muslim world. Afterwards drive to Samarkand, arrival and check-in at the hotel. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast. Guided tour of Samarkand: You will start your tour with the Bibi Khanoum Mosque, the central market of the city “Siyob”, the mausoleum of our first president Islam Karimov and the Shakhi Zinda Necropolis, where each mausoleum is covered with a fully decorated turquoise-blue dome from the XI-XV centuries. The mausoleums date from the XI-XV centuries. Afterwards, guided visits to the Samarkand parchment workshop (made in the traditional way from the bark of the wall tree), the silk carpet factory and the Ulug Beg observatory, the Afrociabe Museum with its 7th and 8th century frescoes, and the Samarkand Museum. Musical performance and presentation of historical costumes in Samarkand. Dinner. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Breakfast. Guided tour with the Gur Emir Mausoleum and the Reghistan complex with the Ulug Beg Medrese (15th century), the Sher Dor Medrese (17th century) and the Tillya Kari Medrese (17th century). Lunch. Visit to the regional museum of Samarkand, the former house of a Jew. Transfer to the train station for the express train “Afrosiyob” at 17:30, arrival in Tashkent at 19:40, welcome by your driver. Dinner. Transfer to the hotel. Overnight stay at the hotel.
Guided tour of the old town: Great Chorsu Market, Khasti Imam Complex, Barak Khan Medrese (Koran book by Osman (7th century)) and Tellia Sheikh Mosque, Kafal Shashi Mausoleum. Guided tour of Independence Square, Romanov Palace (exterior view), Amir Temur Park and the metro.
Breakfast. Then transfer at around 11.00 am to the international airport for the flight to Paris at 2.00 pm with Uzbekistan Airways. Formalities and customs control. Landing in Paris. Bus transfer to Luxembourg. Transfer to your place of residence.
