At 19.10 flight with Swiss to Zurich. At 22.40 hrs onward flight with Swiss to Johannesburg.
Arrival in Johannesburg at 09.20 hrs. Onward journey to the province of Mpumalanga, “Land of the Rising Sun”. Afternoon arrival at the hotel on the edge of the Kruger National Park. Check in at the Hotel Numbi, Hazyview. Free time at leisure.
Full-day game drive by coach through the park. You embark on a full-day game drive by coach through the Kruger National Park. With a little luck, you will spot some of the Big Five as well as many other fascinating animal species. There is also the option of taking part in a game drive in open off-road vehicles through the Phabeni Gate.
Today you travel along the famous Panorama Route. You will experience breathtaking views, deep gorges and waterfalls. Stops during the day include God’s Window, Bourke’s Luck Potholes and the impressive Blyde River Canyon. Return to Pretoria and overnight at the Court Classique Suite Hotel.
City tour of Pretoria: In terms of area, Pretoria is the largest city in South Africa. The pretty city is known for its state and historical buildings, many of which are grouped around the church square with the Ohm Krueger Monument. The tour includes the Voortrekker Monument. Drive to the Union Buildings from where you have a wonderful view of the city. Transfer to OR Tambo Airport and at 3.45 pm flight with South African Airlines to Port Elizabeth. Arrival at 17.25 hrs in Port Elizabeth. Transfer to the Paxton Hotel.
Continue along the Garden Route to Tsitskamma National Park. This area stretches from Nature’s Valley along the coast for a total of 100 km and is home to countless bird species, fynbos, otters and endemic forests. The area is characterized by dense forests with some very old trees. Walk to Storm’s River Mouth near Tsitsikamma. Continue to Knysna, picturesquely situated on the lagoon of the same name and surrounded inland by dense forests and fertile fields. Overnight stay at the Graywood Hotel.
Today the route takes you over the Outeniqua Pass to Oudtshoorn, the ostrich capital of South Africa. There you will visit the Cango dripstone caves and the Cango ostrich farm. In the evening, a dinner with ostrich specialties awaits you. Overnight stay at the Protea Hotel Riempie Estate.
Continue via the scenic Route R62 to Paarl with a visit to the Afrikaans Language Monument. You will then reach Cape Town, where you will spend the night at the Cape Town Lodge.
The day is dedicated to an excursion to the Cape of Good Hope. You drive along the spectacular coastal road Chapman’s Peak Drive, visit the nature reserve and reach the viewpoint at the Cape by funicular or on foot. This is followed by a visit to the penguin colony at Boulders Beach.
You go on a city tour of Cape Town. You will visit the Company Gardens and the Malay Quarter with its colorful houses. An optional ascent of Table Mountain is possible in good weather. Afterwards you have free time at the V&A Waterfront. Return transfer to the hotel in the afternoon.
Drive to Stellenbosch with a tour of the historic old town and a visit to the village museum. During a wine tasting and a cellar tour you will get to know the wine culture of the region. Transfer to Cape Town Airport – 6.05 pm flight with Lufthansa to Frankfurt.
Arrival in Frankfurt at 05.20 hrs and onward flight to Luxembourg at 09.10 hrs. Arrival at 10.00 am.
