Half-day tour of Lima with a visit to the Aliaga House, the Plaza Mayor, the cathedral and the Larco Museum.

Morning flight to Arequipa, afternoon half-day tour in Arequipa to the Catalina Monastery. Enjoy impressive views of the river Chili and the Misti and Chachani volcanoes from the Carmen Alto viewpoint. In Yanahuara, you will experience the contrast between nature and the city as well as the typical architecture made of white volcanic rock. You will then visit the Plaza de Armas and the impressive Santa Catalina monastery with its historic alleyways and courtyards.

Your journey to Chivay begins early in the morning through the Aguada Blanca nature reserve, where you can observe vicuñas in the wild and pass the highland landscapes of Viscachani and Toccra with alpacas and migratory birds. The Patapampa viewpoint offers a spectacular view of the volcanic chain. You reach Chivay around midday.

After a short stop in Yanque, you will drive to Cruz del Cóndor, the best viewpoint in the Colca Canyon for spotting condors. On the way back, you will visit other viewpoints and the village of Maca. Lunch in Chivay, then drive to Puno with stops in Patahuasi and at the Lagunillas viewpoint with views of flamingos.

Visit to the floating Uros Islands, which are built from totora reeds and inhabited by an ancient community. You then continue to Taquile Island for a traditional lunch before returning to Puno.

Drive through impressive Andean landscapes with stops at the archaeological site of Pucará and the La Raya viewpoint to Cusco. Visit the Wiracocha temple in Raqchi and the church of Andahuaylillas, known as the “Sistine Chapel of the Americas”. Arrival in Urubamba.

Visit the charming village of Chinchero with its colonial church and Inca terraces. Enjoy the view of the Sacred Valley and experience traditional craftsmanship in the Living Museum of Yucay. Afterwards, discover the impressive fortress of Ollantaytambo – an important Inca ceremonial center.

Transfer to Ollantaytambo train station and travel by train to Aguas Calientes. On arrival, take the bus to the legendary Inca city of Machu Picchu – a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the new seven wonders of the world. After the visit, return to Aguas Calientes and lunch at Café Inkaterra with a view of the Vilcanota River.

The morning is at leisure, transfer to Cusco.

Visit the Coricancha temple and the cathedral of Cusco with its impressive colonial art. Then explore the Inca sites of Sacsayhuaman, Qenqo, Puca Pucara and Tambomachay – once ceremonial and military centers of the Incas. Flight to Lima.

Lunch in Lima and transfer to the airport and flight to Amsterdam.

Arrival in the afternoon and onward flight to Luxembourg.
